All about Darshan Rawal’s school Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul

Darshan Rawal is the young generation singer in India. He got is breakthrough from Yo Yo Honey Singh’s India’s Raw Star in 2014. Rawal was born on October 18, 1994, and has given several hit songs to the music industry. His famous songs are “Barish”, “Meri Pehli Mohabbat” and “Tera Zikr”.

He was born to Gujarati Hindu Family. He did his schooling from “Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International School.” The school is located at Ahmedabad.

Rawal has never taken any official guitar lesson, he has learned it from YouTube tutorials and quite affectionate to dogs. He is a composer as well as a songwriter too. He said that once he was thrown out of college for not being good at studies.

About Darshan Rawal’s School

The school as its name suggests embarks to connect world level school education along with Indian values. The traditional Gurukuls in India used to be a boarding school irrespective of class conflicts and discrimination. The school website says, “At Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul International Schools, we deeply understand that today’s parents are worried and equally confused about their child’s holistic development.”

They say that they believe in the uniqueness of every child and try to work on them together. It was established in 1948.

A boarding school

The school as working on the principles of Gurukul offers residential or hostel facilities barring outside intervention. It is a boarding school.

The school administration has Dormitory, Mineral Water Plant, and Solar Heater in the hostels. On the other hand, they start the day at 5:30 Am by chanting mantras and devotional songs. They also organize a spiritual meeting every evening with students to maintain the flow of positive energy.

They have a Gaushala as well as vegetation along with a bakery for the students.

For local students, they organized a meeting with parents once in a month while students from non-local areas are given two chances to call their home in a month.

How to get admission in the boarding school

For getting admission there, one needs to fill up the form available at the school campus and attend the counselling too. Thereafter, they had to sit for an online test and a parent and student interaction. After this, the school administration will release the final merit list and the student can finally take admission.


A passing out student, Ashid Wali said, “Now when I am transferring to a college, I feel very grateful for the Gurukul’s big contribution through providing a good background in culture behaviour and personal experience. I spent 3 years in Gurukul.”

On the other hand, another student Ajinkya Nitin said, “Feeling very proud to say that I am the part of Shree Swaminarayan Gurukul, before joining this school I was very arrogant but this school is changed my attitude. Now I come to know the importance of parents as well as education.”
