CBSE (New Delhi): In a recent circular issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the board has asked schools to strictly follow the attendance guidelines and send the reports if there are shorter attendance of students.
CBSE board has reminded schools that if any student has less than 75% attendance on January 1 of the exam year, they will not be allowed to appear in examination unless supportive documents stating reason for absence is furnished to the board.
The board has also issued guidelines stating the standard procedure if any student is absent. For different reasons like medical illness, demise of parents or relatives or similar serious problems, participation in any authorised games or any other activity, board has issued different procedures like submitting medical certificate for illness and death certificate by concerned authorities in case of demise of parents or relatives.
The board has given schools datelines for following different procedures. To consider revision of the attendance by January 1, send the details of students who are unable to get 75% by January 7 to regional offices, these offices will reply back within 15 days which is January 21 and then schools will have to communicate fulfilments of students formalities by January 28 to the regional office and last date for according approvals will be February 7.
However, the board has issued guidelines to strictly maintain 75% attendance under all circumstances.
