The effect due to COVID 19

After the pandemic hit India and cases began rising, the Government of India enforced nationwide lockdown and closure of businesses, industries, educational institutions, etc. As the industries all across the countries were closed, construction work was also stopped, many workers lost their livelihood and due to the loss of companies, they terminated the employment of many workers. Now when the lockdown is uplifted it is necessary for the government to look on the plight of workers and work for their re-employment so that they could get their lives on track. Alongside, many small and medium industries that suffered huge losses need to be compensated and supported in their path of revival.

This initiative by the state government is expected to help the job seekers’ search for availability of jobs on a single platform along with providing companies with the opportunity to fulfill their employment needs with ease by centralizing the process for searching workers. Furthermore, investments will help the companies to restart their production and manage their losses incurred during the period of lockdown.

Earlier, the Delhi government had announced a compensation of Rs 5000 to be given to drivers of public transport vehicles, like auto-rickshaw, e-rickshaw and Gramin Sewa drivers, etc, and the process was completed within 10 days. The amount was transferred directly to the account of the beneficiaries.
