DPS students to represent India in Nepal

Ranchi: Six dance artists from Delhi Public School (DPS) Ranchi have been selected to participate in the “Super 30 Young Cultural Ambassador Concert’ organized by Indian Heritage Centre “Sanskriti Bharat ‘’, Patna.

Being organized in Kathmandu in Nepal on November 20, the event titled Nepal-India International Friendship Concert- NIIFCON-2021 is an International level classical dance concert, where dancers from India and Nepal will perform their different classical dance forms for a period of 2-3 hours.


Deputy Director of Sanskriti Bharat, Shweta Albert informed that the Indian Embassy in association with Nepal India International Friendship Concert is going to organize “Super 30 Young Cultural Ambassador of India Contest’’ on 20th November at Kathmandu. “The concert will feature 30 participants who will showcase their talent in classical dance,” she said.

The Star performers

A group of six dancers from DPS Ranchi have been selected through digital auditions. As a part of the program a 3-day classical dance training and selection camp was organized at DPS Ranchi for the final selection. Kabita Kar and Kakoli Ganguly from Calcutta as dance trainers and mentors coached the students. The students were trained in classical dance Kathak  and Sufi dance forms. The selected contestants from DPS Ranchi include Pragati Pandey, Anushka Singh, Trisha, Prakriti Sargam, Adarshini Samadar and Sinchan Mishra.

Principal DPS Dr.Ram Singh congratulated all the finalists  on getting an opportunity to represent their country on a global platform.

Among other leading classical dancers who will grace the occasion include Kaushani Kundu from Kolkata[Kathak], Rajni Dubey from M.P. [Lok Nritya], Yamini from Patna[Kathak],the renowned Kathak Guru,Pt.Rajendra Gangani from New Delhi and Dr.Ranjan Jha ,trained classical singer from Patna along with Smt. Sumita Dutta Roy.

The students have pay Rs.20,000 each as participation fee which includes the cost of lodging and fooding with local tour for three days and three nights in Kathmandu.
