The last day to apply for DRDO scholarship 2020 for girls is now December 31, 2020. The dates have already been shifted two times earlier. Meanwhile, the main reason for this three times extension is the global Pandemic situation. Since many engineering colleges are delaying their results, students may not be able to fill the scholarship form. That is why, government has planned to provide assistance to such girl students.

All about DRDO Scholarship
Aeronautics Research and Development Board(AR&DB) is the premier organisation under which DRDO has launched the “DRDO Scholarship Scheme for Girls.” The aim and responsibility to establish this centre is to raise quality aeronautics personnel in the country. As a result, AR&DB wants to pick out bright female talent across the country with the help of this Scholarship. Under the scheme, there is a provision of a total of 30 scholarships granted to female students each year. The Defence Research and Development Organisation bears this responsibility.
Who are eligible to apply?
Indian female students opting for subjects including aerospace engineering, aeronautical engineering, space engineering and rocketry, avionics or aircraft engineering can apply for the scholarship. They must be enrolled in academic year 2020-21. Other conditions are listed below:
1. Must have an enrollment in 1st year of full-time 4 year degree of BE or BTech. They are eligible for 20 scholarships worth Rs 1,20,000 per year or annual fees, whichever is less, for a maximum period of 4 years. Candidates must have a valid JEE Main score.
2. Must have an enrollment in 2 year full-time degree of ME, MSc in engineering or MTech. Ten scholarships worth Rs 15,500 per month subject to Rs1,86,000 per year for a maximum period of two years are there. Candidate must have a valid GATE score.
3. Further, those pursuing dual degree or integrated course are eligible for the scholarship only for 1st four years as applicable for BTech degree.
Candidates can apply online on the website mentioned above before 31 December, 2020. Most important step is to upload all the required documents. Also, candidates have to get a certificate from the institute they are studying in. This is necessary for identity proof and to prove that candidate is not availing any other scholarship.
