An International E-Kata Championship was organised by Shihan Ayan Chakraborty and Traditional Karate-Do Okinawa Kobudo Indo Kyokai. The event saw a total of 352 participants from five countries: India, Japan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The Supreme Judge of the event was Grand Master Hanshi Masanobu Sato from Japan and Eric Govinder was the Chief Judge. Moreover, Sensei W.D Sarangga from Srilanka & Sensei Md Ali from Bangladesh were on the judging panel.
Event was a huge success
Speaking about the event, one of the organisers Traditional Karate-Do Okinawa Kubodo Indo Kyokai said, “The event was successful despite the pandemic.”
About Karate and E Kata championship
The meaning of the word Karate is empty hand. Moreover, the word Karate-do translates to “The way of Karate.” Shihan Ayan Chakraborty said, “You can learn Bad Karate-Do from an Instructor with a good heart.You can learn good Karate-Do from an Instructor with a good heart but never learn good Karate-Do from an Instructor with a bad heart. Shotokan Karate a form of karate is a weaponless martial art. It involves the basic techniques of punching, striking, kicking, blocking pressure points and joint blocks. It was founded by Master Gichin Funakoshi. However, there is a deeper aspect of serious karate training. The training deals with character development. Moreover, it is a way for an individual to realize greater potential and expand their physical and mental capabilities. Also, Karate is time-proven as an excellent method of personal development.
Shotokan Karate still retains its roots in strong martial arts tradition. It emphasizes lifetime training for a healthy mind and body.

All India Shotokan Karate-Do School is an approved organisation of Karate Association of India. It serves under the leadership of Grand Master P Sonny Pillay Hanshi. Hanshi is 8th Dan Black Belt WKF/SKIF Japan. Also, the school is recognised by Government of India (Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports) Indian Olympic Association, Member of Asian Karate Federation, South Asian Karate Federation, Commonwealth Karate Federation, World Karate Federation.
