Flipkart, India’s e-commerce marketplace is about to commence its yearly sale. The much-awaited big billion-day sale is going to start on the 16th of October. During the sale, several products prices are reduced due to flipkart offers. As a result of the sale, Flipkart is going to hire students for a 45 days internship. Students from over 21 cities will get the opportunity to work with Flipkart.
45-day launchpad internship programme
The 45-day launchpad internship programme will help the students gain skill in supply chain management. Also, it will help them gain knowledge about the processes which help e-commerce thrive. Moreover, with the internship, Flipkart aims to help in creating an ecosystem of well qualified, trained and skilled professional in the long run. It will help the students gather some experience before entering into the professional world. Due to Flipkart offers, people order large quantity of products, and to meet the demand it is necessary to keep the supply chain running smoothly.
Undergraduate students from Tier-II cities
The opportunity is open for undergraduate students. Students from 21 cities including Binola (Haryana), Bhiwandi (Maharashtra), Uluberia and Dankuni (West Bengal) etc will get an opportunity to work in the state of art supply chain of the e-commerce giant Flipkart. Also, Flipkart is working with various educational institutions in these locations to identify meritorious students.
Upon joining, students will receive training in various aspects of supply chain management. Moreover, with the ongoing pandemic, students will have to maintain social distancing during work and undergo a thermal scan before entering the facilities. Also, the interns need to have Aarogya Setu app running on their phones. The internship will provide the intern exposure to the fast-changing scenario in e-commerce. Moreover, it will help build resiliency and agility in their tasks.
Speaking about the launchpad internship programme, Senior Vice-President of Flipkart, Amitesh Jha said that “Flipkart has always been at the forefront of sharing knowledge and building workforce for the fast-growing e-commerce. Further, he said that the internship creates excitement among the young students. As a result of this, Flipkart has carefully devised the internship programme which will help in the development of the students. Also, he said that the internship will help the students generate more interest in the supply chain.
Results from previous year
The internship programme began last year. That year Flipkart saw the participation of over 2,000 students from different cities to learn about the supply chain management. It is among several initiatives run by Flipkart to bring its ecosystem together.
Similar to Flipkart, its biggest rival Amazon has announced the creation of over 1.4 lakh temporary jobs during its festive sale. The jobs will open in supply chain management, last-minute connectivity and creation of customer support during the festive sale. Amazon festival is going to start on the 17th of October for all users. Whereas, the sale for users with Amazon Prime subscription will start one day prior to the sale date for all users on 16th October. Amazon’s Festive sale and Flipkart Big Billion Day are one of the awaited sales in India.
