Students of The Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India (ICFAI) University, Jharkhand has received the best online internship award in India from Shriram Life Insurance.
Shobhana Samarth, an MBA student was awarded with the best online internship award and was invited to the award distribution function which is to be held at Hyderabad. The students of ICFAI utilized the lockdown period and completed online summer internships in the industry.
The internships to the universities’ students were offered by companies including Larsen & Toubro, Dalmia Cements, Sterlite Technologies, IT companies, Leading advocates and legal services companies, etc. students have also received a stipend and performance rewards for their good performance during the internship. The report was presented during viva voice through virtual interaction.
Award for the Best Online Internship at ICFAI University
Appreciating work of Shobhana Samarth, Gourav Kumar, Head (Bihar and Jharkhand) and her company guide said, “Shobhana did a superb job during her internship with us.” Shobhana thanked the ICFAI University for providing the opportunity for the Virtual Internship so that she could “work from home” on the internship project.
Congratulating Shobhana on her achievement, Prof O R S Rao, Vice-Chancellor of the University said, “All students of our programs, including B Com, are required to do Summer Internship Project (SIP) in industry and submit a report, which is evaluated by the University. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we were forced to arrange for Online Internships for our students so that they do not miss the opportunity for acquiring hands-on skills”. “We trained our students on Digital Skills and online Research Methodology so that they could do the projects online, as per the company requirements,” added Prof Rao.
Prof Sumit Kumar Sinha, Faculty-in-charge of Corporate Relations and Placements said, “This is the first time, we arranged for online internships. We are thankful to the organizations across India not only for offering online internships to our students but also for guiding them appropriately”.
