NEET 2020 Results : Soyeb from Odisha bags the top position

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the much-awaited results of NEET 2020 for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), 2020 today at 5 pm. The result includes both September 13 and October 14 attempts. Those who have scored 50 % or above are considered successful. However, seats in medical and dental colleges are offered based on merit-based counselling. National Medical Commission which has replaced the Medical Council of India (MCI) will conduct the counselling.

Soyeb Aftab has topped the NEET 2020 entrance exam scoring 720 marks. NTA has revealed that Odisha’s Soyeb Aftab, the 18 year old boy from Rourkela has landed an All India Rank 1 in NEET 2020 exam. Soyeb also created history by securing full marks in the NEET 2020 exams which has never happened before. He took coaching from a Kota institute. According to media reports, Soyeb already speculated that he might secure the all India first rank. After tallying his answer with the NEET 2020 answer key, Soyeb claimed that he had scored full marks in the NEET 2020 exams.

Around 14.37 lakhs students appeared in NEET 2020 exams

Despite the Covid -19 pandemic,around 14.37 lakhs candidates appeared for the NEET 2020 exams on September 13 this year. While the rest of the students who were unable to take the exam on September 13, were given a chance to appear for it in the special exam. Students can check their results on the official website.

AIIMS and JIPMER are also accepting candidates based on the NEET marks

Moreover, with the release of the national rank list, state-based colleges will also release their cut-offs. Top medical colleges AIIMS and JIPMER are also accepting candidates based on the NEET marks since last year. Earlier, these colleges used to conduct their entrance exam. Every medical college has 15 % seats reserved under the All India Quote (AIQ). These seats are filled centrally while the rest are filled by the respective states.
Founder of Mediconation, Geeta Jain said, “The NEET 2020 paper was easy and the physics section was easier as compared to the last years. So the cut off is likely to be higher this year. Also, NTA has kept relaxation for the candidates this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

  3. Fill all the necessary credentials like enrollment number, date of birth and submit
  4. You will get the Qualifying status on your window.
  5. Check all the details and take a printout for future reference
