NEET Results to be declared on October 16

NEET result 2020, which was going to be announced today, will be releasing on October 16. After the supreme court directed the National Testing Agency (NTA) to release the NEET 2020 result on October 16, NTA has released an official notification informing about the centre’s decision. NTA would be declaring NEET 2020 results on its official website at However, the Supreme Court has directed NTA to conduct the exam for those who had missed it on October 14.

Apex Court’s decision

The apex court has said that students who were not able to appear in the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Examination (NEET) will be given an opportunity to reappear in the exam. Students who were corona positive or were living inside containment zones can write the exams again. Moreover, NTA will conduct the re-exam on 14 October. The Supreme Court order comes on a request made by the Central Board of Secondary Education. CBSE has requested the apex court to allow students who could not appear in NEET exam because of testing Covid 19 positive or being in containment zones.

The NEET 2020 exam went smoothly on September 13 amid strict precautions in the wake of Covid – 19 pandemic. Following all the directions and advisories sincerely the NEET exam was held in a secure and healthy atmosphere.

The exact timing of the NEET 2020 results will be intimated later.

Union Cabinet Minister For Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank took to Twitter to inform the date of NEET 2020 results. NTA will notify the exact timing of result declaration later on. Around 15.97 lakh students registered for the NEET exam 2020. Out of which, more than 13 lakhs candidates have appeared for the test, as per Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

Final Answer key of NEET 2020

As per usual practice, the final answer key of NEET 2020 will release before the results are out. NTA is likely to release the NEET 2020 final answer key before it announces the result online on its official website. NTA has already announced the NEET provisional answer keys of all the sections of the NEET 2020 exam. It has released the OMR sheets of the aspirations. However, according to the reports, NTA can declare the NEET 2020 exam result by 1 pm on October 16. Additionally, NTA has informed that the result is available on the official website at for 3 months after the announcement of the result.

180 MCQs questions for NEET 2020 exam


The NEET 2020 exam questions paper is available in many languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Marathi, Telugu, Gujarati, Tamil, Bengali, Assamese and Kannada. The NEET test question paper had 180 multiple-choice questions. Moreover, the test paper had three sections consisting of Physics, Chemistry and Biology with 45 questions each. The total score for the NEET 2020 test paper is 720. According to a report by Times Now, the cut off of NEET exam will be higher this year comparing to the results of last year.

According to NDTV, six states had more than one lakh candidates each in NEET 2020 exam. Here is the state-wise aspirants’ list who wrote the NEET 2020 exam :-

NEET 2020 counselling schedule


After the announcement of the NEET 2020 result, the detailed schedule of counselling will be made available. The NEET Counselling happens for All India Quota (AIQ) seats in Medical colleges across the country. However, NEET Counselling for the 85 % state quota is subject to rules and regulations of a particular state. Candidates who were not able to appear for NEET 2020 will take the special exam on October 14 from 2 pm to 5 pm. Moreover, the admit card for the NEET re-exam has already been issued.

Number of seats for admission

The NEET exam 2020 has been held for admission to around 85,000 seats. In this 80,055 are for MBBS (medicine) and 26,949 for BDS (dentistry) seats in medical colleges. After the declaration of NEET 2020 results, admission will also be given to 1,205 MBBS seats at 15 AIIMS, 200 JIPMER, 52,720 AYUSH and 525 Veterinary seats.
