What is Netflix Stream Fest?

Netflix is facilitating its users with free access to its contents for a total of two days, i.e. 48 hours. The company will provide a code to the users which they can use for watching streamed videos. The free-trial promotional offer is applicable on December 5 and 6. Netflix is organizing the Stream Fest on weekends as a part of experiment. The move would definitely help the platform in business expansion in India.

Before this, Netflix had offered a 30-day free trial which used to let the users test its service. The users were eligible to watch few Web series for a month at no cost. If the user liked the service, they would subscribe and vice versa. However, the trial subscription offer was removed by the company .

Strategy refers to global market reach

Earlier this year, Netflix Chief Product Officer Greg Peters during the company’s earning call unveiled its strategy to begin with India and capture global markets over the time. He referred Netflix Stream Fest as “an example of the kind of innovation” planned by firm. The plan is “an idea” to increase its subscribers and introducing the Web streaming service to new viewers.

“We think that providing free Netflix access to everyone in the country on weekends could be a great way to expose a bunch of new people to the amazing stories we create. Introducing them to the service, the work functions could be helpful to build a crowd and hopefully a bunch of folks would sign up,” Peters said.

Are these Web series in your watch list?

“Netflix and Chill”, is a popular phrase tossed by the youth now and then. Binge watching Web series is the favourite pastime of the millennials today. So, let’s just hop onto the series that are gaining enough popularity and should be watched by one and all, specially on offer days. “BoJack Horseman, Stranger Things, Ozark, When They See Us, The Crown” are among the highest ranked web series right now. Other than this, GLOW, The Witcher, The Umbrella Academy are some other ‘must watch’ shows.

Presently, Netflix charge ranges between  rs 199 and 799 for a month whereas Amazon Prime Video subscribers pay Rs 999 for a year in India.
