The Oscar-nominated star of Juno has come out as transgender. On Tuesday, he introduced himself as Elliot page in a social media posts. The post voiced joy at sharing the news but also fear over a possible backlash.
The actor was formerly known as Ellen Page. He thanked supporters in the trans community. He thanked the community for helping him on his journey. Also, he thanked them for loving who he is enough to pursue his authentic self.

“I love that I am trans and queer,” wrote the Canadian born Page, who has recently starred in Netflix superhero series “The Umbrella Academy.” In 2007 sleeper hit Juno, page, 33, burst onto the Hollywood scene with an Oscar-nominated role as a pregnant teenager.
The actor has also starred in the 2009 roller derby comedy “Whip It”, in the 2010 science fiction hit “Inception” alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, and the 2012 Woody Allen comedy “To Rome with Love.”
Page came out as gay
In 2014, Page came out as gay. He quickly became a flagbearer for Hollowood’s LGBTQ community. In 2018, he married dancer, Emma Portner. Since 2014’s “X Men: Days of Future Past,” he was largely absent from big-budget Hollywood. Page has repeatedly shrugged off suggestions of being typecast or stunned by Tinseltown.
“Despite feeling profoundly happy right now, the truth is I am scared of the invasiveness, the hate, the ‘jokes’ and violence,” wrote Page in his post identifying as transgender.
Page railed against politicians
The page also railed against politicians and said, “Politicians criminalize trans health care and deny our right to exist, as well as influential public figures who use a massive platform and who continue to spew hostility towards the trans community,” said Page. “You have blood on your hands. You unleash a fury of vile and demeaning rage that leads on the shoulders of the trans community.” he added.
