The Apple and Samsung War Saga Continues

Apple’s iPhone was the most awaited series of the year. It gave goosebumps to many Apple lovers to get a series of four phones. The launch went viral on social media and the event was a complete hit. But the reason it went viral was that iPhone 12 does not come with a charger or Air Pods. The series of four new phones are equipped with 5G. This means that it can connect to the next-generation high-speed wireless network. With the series launch, came back the Samsung VS Apple war.

The launch announced the exclusion of adaptor and Ear pods and welcomed Samsung VS Apple

iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone mini are among the launched phones. Moreover, the new iPhone box will include an iPhone and a USB-C to Lightning Cable. Some more gadgets were launched at the event.

At the launch, Apple confirmed that they will not be shipping power adaptors or Ear Pods in the phone box and welcomed the war of Samsung VS Apple. Also, customers will have to buy these equipments separately. People discussed the specifications of the series and made memes about the prices as usual. Anyhow, it appears that this time tech giant Apple will be in the headlines a little longer. Rival Samsung became the latest to mock the new phone’s absence of accessories.

Samsung Mocks Apple and the Samsung VS Apple continues

The official Facebook account of Samsung Caribbean recently shared an image of the power adaptor of the new Galaxy phone. The caption of the post was, “Your #Galaxy does give you what you are looking for. From the most basic as a charger to the best camera, battery, performance, memory, and even 120Hz screen on a smartphone (sic).” Moreover, the post had over 54,000 shares and 80,000 reactions. Many comments hoped that Samsung would not imitate Apple.

The rivalry is not new

This is nothing new to mock each other for these companies. Pot-shots are often seen by them regarding each other. In the year 2017 Samsung pinched Apple with its “Growing Up” ad. This ad was for ditching the headphone jack after iPhone 7 was released. However, in the year 2019 a certain strategy was adopted and all the ads were removed from social media platforms.

Samsung VS Apple : Apple takes its Stand

In the Samsung VS Apple War, Apple said that it is an eco-friendly move to no longer include wall pin-chargers or wired headphones. Moreover, it released a statement on their website that read, “Across the iPhone family, we’re removing the power adapter and Ear Pods that often go unused, but including the fast-charging USB-C to Lightning cable that most people need. That shrinks packaging and more boxes per shipment mean fewer shipments overall. We’re also transitioning our manufacturing partners to renewable energy. Altogether, this eliminates over 2 million metric tons of carbon emissions annually. (sic).”

This all has a long history

Apple VS Samsung was the first of a series of an ongoing lawsuit between Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics. This fight was related to the design of the smartphone and tablet computers. Both companies made a huge sale of smartphones worldwide in the year 2012. Before 2012, Apple litigated against Samsung in Patent infringement. Apple’s international lawsuit over technology patents came to be known as “smartphone patent wars.”

In the year 2011, Apple and Samsung were petitioning 19 cases in nine countries. Initially resulted in a $1 billion ruling in Apple’s favour. In October, the legal disputes expanded to ten countries. By July 2012, the two companies were involved in more than 50 lawsuits around the globe.

Apple and Samsung had another major patent battle, which first started in 2014 but didn’t end. In that case, Apple won $120 million over violations of its slide-to-unlock patent and several others. The two companies also had patent fights internationally, but they agreed to drop those lawsuits back in 2014.
