Iconic characters “Tom and Jerry” are back!

Legendary Cat and Mouse duo are back to entertain the audience on big screen with all their mischiefs. Warner Bros. have released the first trailer of the movie, “Tom & Jerry” and audience all over the world are sharing it on their social media handles crazily. The movie is a blend of animation and live-action releasing on March 5, 2021.

Official Synopsis of the Tom & Jerry movie

The film starts when Jerry moves into New York City’s magnificent hotel on the eve of “the wedding of the century.” He forces the desperate event planner to hire Tom to get rid of him. Thereafter, the cat and mouse battle starts over which threatens to destroy her career, the wedding and possibly the hotel itself. But shortly, another bigger problem arises making the story adventurous. A satanic ambitious staffer conspires against all three of them. Meanwhile the story takes an interesting turn here creating all the drama audiences are expecting.

Film’s Cast and Crew

Direction is done by Tim Story on a marvellous script prepared by Kevin Costello. Vocal effects credits for Tom & Jerry through archived audio recordings goes to William Hanna, Mel Blanc and June Foray. Actors Chloe Grace Moretz, Michael Pena and Rob Delaney, are all in live-action mode. This will ensure a new kind of cinema-viewing experience. The cast includes Ken Jeong, Colin Jost and Pallavi Sharda too.

Social Media reactions to the Teaser

While the animals Tom and Jerry will be shown animated in the movie, the rest part is full of live-actions. Social media is full of mixed reactions from people. Some are appreciating the way cartoon characters are being presented whereas some are criticising their appearance. One person wrote on Twitter: “The fact it takes place in the real world has no cohesive story except for Tom & Jerry fighting like they’ve always done. The fact that this trailer is stuffed to the brim with pop and rap songs, I can say I don’t have high hopes at all.” While another one tweeted, “I am so watching this! With a new mindset though! That Jerry is the villain.”

The excitement to watch decade old rivalry surely, is going to bring back a flood of childhood memories. Till date, over 150 animated shorts, films and TV shows have been made featuring Tom and Jerry’s iconic characters.
