Ranchi: Rashmit Kaur of Human Resource Management (HRM) emerged as one of the most successful candidates of Xaviers Institute of Social Service (XISS) bagging two gold medals and a silver alongwith a cash award during the 60th Convocation ceremony of the institute held on August 27, 2021. She was one among the 26 medal winners and 298 students bagging their diploma certificates.
Gold medals shower at XISS Convocation
As many as 11 gold medals, nine silver and six bronze with two cash awards were given to the successful students of the passing out batch in a glittering ceremony held at Fr. Michael Van den Bogaert, SJ Memorial Auditorium in the XISS campus
Rashmit got NIPM gold medal for first rank in HRM and NTPC gold medal, New Delhi along with NIPM silver medal, Kolkata. She also received Unni Krishnan Book grant worth Rs.5000. She was closely followed by Gangotri Kumari of Information Technology (IT) who also bagged two gold medals–one for first rank in her programme and another Platlap Solution gold medal for her academic achievement.
Ankita Choudhary of Rural Management, Bahzat Izhar of Marketing and Kaushik Ghosh of Finance got gold medals for securing first rank in their respective programmes while Ms. Trishla Shoundik and Ms. Jaya Eti Minz bagged NTPC Gold Medal, New Delhi for ST/SC.
Nearen Bodra Gold Medal for highest aggregate for ST students was clinched by Ms. Divya Akansha Binha while Harsh Bisen of Rural Management got CASA Gold Medal for best outgoing student.
Plant Head Tata Motors distributes medals
Plant Head, Tata Motors Jamshedpur Vishal Badshah, was the Chief Guest of the ceremony where he distributed medals, scholarships and diplomas to several students and addressed others attending the programme virtually. in his Convocation address, Badshah, commended XISS on its numerous accomplishments throughout the years.

You will be moving out of the shelters of your college and will face the world with confidence and shine and bring laurels to the institution. Badshah also released ‘AXIS 2021’, the Annual Report of XISS, and other publications of the instutute including–Machine Learning Applications by Dr Rik Das and ‘Inclusive Growth’ in Jharkhand Journal Of Development and Management Studies (JJDMS) by Dr Joseph Marianus Kujur & Dr Shyamal Gomes.
Three Institutional Scholarships
Chairman, Governing Body, XISS Fr. Ajit Kumar Xess, SJ, formally announced the convocation ceremony open. He extended the institute’s warm gratitude to the chief guest for gracing the occasion. He also declared the newly constituted three Institutional Scholarships namely Fr. Michael Van den Bogaert SJ Memorial Scholarship for meritorious students of SC/ST category, Fr. Michael Albert Windey SJ Memorial Scholarship for meritorious students on the whole, open to all category and Fr. Louis Francken SJ Memorial Scholarship for overall performance of all categories of students. These were then awarded to 30 students.

Director XISS, Dr. Joseph Marianus Kujur SJ, presented the annual report for the academic year 2020-21 highlighting the Institute’s achievements during this period.

The Fr. Michael Van den Bogaert SJ Memorial Award is given during the XISS Annual Convocation to the illustrious alumni of the Institute and this year alumnus of Rural Management and Founder Director SAMPARC Amit Banerjee was the recipient.
